In Term 4 of Year 10, students are engaged in a suite of teaching and learning programs aimed to challenge and extend their skills. Framed within four domains of the College’s learning framework; Collaborative Learning, Thinking Skills, Transforming Knowledge and Learning to be, the program is based on contemporary research in best teaching and learning practice that allows students to develop a clear process for critical and creative thinking.
One aspect of the program is teacher/student mentoring. Students work one-on-one with a teacher and take charge of their own learning; they determine their own learning goals, how they will achieve them and evaluate their learning outcomes. The mentoring process continues until the end of Year 12.
